If you want to have an open-air fire then yes, you need an approved permit. If you are having a barbecue or small campfire a permit is not required.

What happens if my pile is larger than 1 cubic meter?

You would require an inspection of the site and a special permit. Please contact the office at 705 295-6880 to arrange.
